1: You are going need to contact each and every living person in your class. The easiest and cheapest way to do this is to first search http://www.Classmates.com. Here, you will probably find some of your classmates listed and a convenient email address to reach them. You can then get a rough estimate of how many will be attending your reunion. You may also contact your school, as they may still have records of addresses and names. However, as time goes on, these records are less helpful, since people move, and change their names. For whichever classmates you are able to contact, consider asking them to pass on any information to you about the names and whereabouts of any other of your classmates that they have kept in contact with. Inform them about the inexpensive "Classmates.com". to keep in touch. (OEP gets no kickbacks from Classmates for recommending them, by the way.)
2: Book a Location: In general, you will need a location that can handle the amount of people in your class. 3: Book the entertainment: Do you want a band, or a DJ? We have found the DJ to be the better option. At OEP, we can play all those "oldies" that were hits when you were in school. And, the music goes on continuously without breaks in the action. 4: Book the food: Do you want a sit down dinner, or just refreshments? 5: Consider a slide presentation collection of pictures from those wonder years in school. Once connected with your classmates by email, you can have them send you photos to add to the show. All of these pictures can be forwarded to OEP to be included in a slide show, sequenced with background music, such as "The Way We Were" by Barbara Streisand, and other great "memory" songs. To get an idea of how many pictures you need, plan on about one picture for every 8-16 beats of music. This amounts to around 240-300 for a 20-30 minute presentation. Our staff can be helpful in this process. See our link: Slide Presentations. 6: Decorations: Consider how you want the event location to look. Many decorations are at low cost and available on line. If you live in a large urban center, it is easy to find just the right decorations. However, if you live in the boonies, you may be better served on line. Consider our party store to help fill in the right "look" for your event, and these items are delivered to your door in a few days. 6: Start planning early. A good class reunion usually takes about 9 months of planning. You must contact all your classmates at least 6 months in advance to be able to pick the right date and start hyping your event to get them to schedule their lives around your reunion. The later you wait, the poorer to attendance will be. We, at OEP, hope this information is helpful. If we can help make your memories of "The Good Ol' Days" come to life at your event, feel free to contact us at (530) 246-7999, or Request Info.
